The original deadline was June 20th. I have extended it to June 22nd
to give people one more paycheck, if applicable. If you send a check,
just let me know by the 22nd so that we can get the count to Steve's
Steakhouse, who is catering the event.
You can pay through pay pal. The link is on the right hand side of the blog. You can find the blog here: www.rhs93.blogspot.com or you can mail a check to:

The cost is $26 for one person and $52 for 2.
Keep in mind that there will be a family picnic on Friday July 5
too. It will be from 12-4 at the North Pavilion at the Lion's Park.
This is a free event and does not require any RSVP. Be sure to bring
your own lunch and your family!
We will also be participating in the 4th of July parade. Watch for more information about that. We won't have the details until July 2nd.

Class Highlight: Brett W Thompson
In Loving Memory
Brett W. Thompson
Brett W. Thompson "Scipio Kid" RICHFIELD, UTAH- Brett William Thompson, 32, passed away July 9, 2007 in Tijeras, New Mexico from complications of cancer. He was born March 17, 1975 in Bountiful, Utah to Brad William and Dorothy Kjerstine Busk Thompson. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to the Canada-Halifax Mission, 1994 to 1996. He married Terri Lynn Demeyere on June 14, 1997 in the Manti Temple. Brett attended schools in Richfield, graduating from Richfield High School in 1993. He was an Eagle Scout. He loved the game of baseball, often hitting home runs. Nothing felt better to him than hitting one over the fence. While attending Utah State University, he was a member of the baseball team for two years, playing first base. He received his bachelors and masters degrees in Fisheries Biology, receiving the Fisheries and Wildlife Emeritus Faculty Scholarship in 1998. He enjoyed his career with the U.S. Forest Service, initially working in the Ashley National Forest in the Uintah Mountains. At the time of his passing, he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Albuquerque, N.M. He loved spending time at the family farm in Scipio. He helped his grandfather, William Thompson, with the many responsibilities of farming and ranching. It was a dream of Brett's to someday return to Scipio. Brett loved learning and had great mechanical aptitude; he could fix anything. He loved fishing and hunting and spent as much time as he could in nature. His chosen career gave him the opportunity to be frequently in the environment he so enjoyed. He was his family's hero, admired for his courage during cancer treatment and his determination in getting his education. Two of his favorite words were unbelievable and prodigious, words that described so many of his life experiences. His survivors include his wife Terri Lynn; children, Sariah and Brielle; parents, Brad W. and Dorothy Busk Thompson; brothers, Darin (Misty) Thompson, Greg Thompson; grandparents, William C. and Eileen Bradfield Thompson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stiner and Golda Pectol Busk. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 12 noon in the Scipio LDS Ward Chapel, 85 West 100 North. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Friday evening from 6-8 and at the ward chapel in Scipio on Sat. from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery.

Parade Committe- Duties any volunteers???
The parade committee will be in charge of figuring out what we need to do get in the 4th of July parade. I'm sure there are procedures with the city's official parade committee. They will also need to procure a truck, a driver, and a flat bed trailer for us to ride on. They will need to have a few posters declaring us the best class to ever come out of RHS, and maybe a few decorations and something to sit on (folding chairs? hay bales? I've never done this, I don't know). They would also need to make sure to invite the classmates to participate on said parade entry. I really think the chairperson of his committee should be a Richfield dweller, just because it will be easier. Who is willing? It's better to volunteer.....
